Our Team

Stella Soyoung Choi, CFA^®, CFP^® serves as the Director of Portfolio Management for Optivest. She is responsible for researching, developing and maintaining investment portfolios to fulfill the Optivest diversified portfolio allocation specifications. Stella works with Optivest clients to help test, predict and optimize their financial futures via analysis of finances viewed through the lenses of estate planning, tax efficiency, legacy planning, charitable giving, wealth protection and enhancement.

Stella brings 18 years of institutional portfolio management experience to the Optivest Investment Committee. Her exemplary background includes experience as Investment Manager at Fidelity Investments for 8+ years where she managed over $700 million of firm assets. As Director of Portfolio Management at Lattice Strategies, LLC for over 10 years, Stella both designed and managed a proprietary portfolio management software while managing more than 200 portfolio accounts.  She brings deep knowledge of discipline in portfolio management processes, research, and efficiencies in operations.

Stella holds the professional designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA^®) since 2006 and received the Certified Financial Planner (CFP^®) designation in 2017. She has a Masters in Accounting from Bentley College, Waltham, MA and a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Clark University.

Her personal interests include philanthropic and Christian charity work and she serves as CFO for Cura Mission and Renew and Empower Foundation, a non-profit organization.
